Knoxville Birth Doula

Virginia’s Story

Hi, there! I’m Virginia, your birth and baby loving bestie. I am proud to be a professional, DONA certified birth doula. My undergraduate education is in family science and I am passionate about collaborating my experience as a Certified Family Life Educator with the world of birth support to bring a preventative, strengths-based mindset to the birth spaces.

I grew up in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and love to spend my days by the Little River camping with a s’more in hand. I married my middle school sweetheart in 2020 and am a UT alumni. My family is my everything and my old soul is a gift from them.

In 2013, I started my career path serving families at a non-profit supporting families who had babies with developmental challenges. These babies stole my heart and I have been serving families ever since. Birth is a science and a completely natural experience. Growing your family is such a beautiful process and one that I can geek out about for hours. As a doula, it is my privilege to be welcomed into birth spaces where miracles happen and mommies and daddies are made.

Testimonies

“We are so grateful for Virginia! She showed up anytime we called and asked her to. She was amazing during my long labor. Filled the room with laughter and joy. She continuously checked on me postpartum as I got some postpartum anxiety. We truly love her!”

Richesin Family

“We are SO thankful that Virginia was our doula and a part of our birth experience. From the very beginning, she was supportive, knowledgeable, and helpful. She checked in with us frequently leading up to our scheduled induction, and she was more than helpful throughout the entire process. She spent countless hours at the hospital with us, and she was encouraging. supportive, and one of our biggest cheerleaders. Looking back, we would have been so lost without Virginia. With her guidance and knowledge, we were able to have the most successful birth possible. Virginia was so so very helpful and we would have been lost without her! Thank you to the moon and back, Virginia!”

Atkins Family

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Virginia. She was an invaluable asset to our family. She is honest and dependable, and exhibited an impeccable work ethic as it related to caring for me and my children and being available. She often went above and beyond and was a very positive presence for our family.”

Stephens Family

"I just wanted to give a huge shout-out to our amazing doula, Virginia! My husband and I took every class and read every book before having our first child. We thought we knew it all...boy were we mistaken! Virginia helped us learn how to communicate with each other, our nurses, and our doctor. She helped me make a birth plan and then opened my eyes to what was most important to me in that plan. She educated my husband and I with great visuals and games. Most importantly, she taught us how to ask questions and advocate for ourselves at the hospital. She was a great cheerleader and encourager in the delivery room, and I'm truly glad we decided to have a doula as a part of our second birthing experience! She even followed up with a visit and a sweet gift for our new baby to check on how we were! Great care from start to finish!"
